A 1984 interview I did with George Orwell, author of Nineteen Eighty-Four,
Animal Farm, and other books. Orwell discusses the prospects for avoiding
the nightmare society he depicted in Nineteen Eighty-Four. Published
in the February / March 1984 issue of Business Software Review magazine.
- "Sight Unseen"
Tells the story of my friend Frances Starr (a blind Russian painter born in
1909) and her courage in the face of almost overwhelming obstacles. Originally
published in The Arizona Republic in 1997; Ms. Starr spent her last
years in Phoenix, Arizona, where I met her. She passed away on March 5, 2004.
She was a great lady, and I miss her.
- "God Even Loves the Haters"
Argues that we should love and respect other people, even if they follow ways
of life with which we disagree. Originally published in The Indianapolis
News in 1993.
